Old Spanish Tral

Real photo postcards by Issac Murrey. This group has the initials “O.S.T. that I believe stands for “Old Spanish Trail”

A system of east-to-west trails along the southern part of the United States became known as the “Old Spanish Trail” (OST). The Old Spanish Trail goes through swamps and crosses the deserts and mountains generally following the route that is now Highway 90, and links Florida with California. It begins in St. Augustine, Florida and follows the Gulf Coast through Alabama and Mississippi, then continues through New Orleans and south Louisiana, cutting across Texas, New Mexico and ending at San Diego, California.
